From $200 to $23 Million for a Rolex Daytona.

Whilst this was the growth for a watch, it is all part of the Global movement into Collectibles as Investments, as John Connolly writes in yesterday's edition of The Australian.

It would appear that this Pandemic may have a silver lining for those that join us.

Whilst the right Collectible Cars were always rising in value, and always will, it seems that the Covid-19 Pandemic has allowed many more people to indulge in this fascinating industry, now that travel is restricted. John has identified a few cars from the Hagerty list of "10 Classic Car prices that exceeded expectations in 2020 ". These cars were :

A 1972 Corniche that used to sell for $100,000 that sold for $285,000 during 2020.

A 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV Speciale that would usually make $3 Million that sold for $6 Million in the 2020 September Goodings auction.

A 1989 Mercedes 300 SL which would normally sell for around $50,000, sold for $125,000 at the 2020 Historics auction.

There are 61 differing aspects that determine whether a Collectible Car will rise or fall in value.

Call us now to find out which ones are winners and which are no-hopers. Secure you're rapidly rising Investment now.

When this stunning relatively high mileage (98,040 kms) sold this time last year, we rejoiced as usual, as the values of our 240Z's had just risen again !. The rising tide lifts all boats...........every time. This car became one of the highest priced Japanese cars to be sold at auction.

Whilst the car sold is one of only 40 or so ever built, the focus always comes back to the base car. Happy Days !.

Up 23% for one of our Investment Cars, and great gains for all our other cars over the past 3 months

Up 23% for one of our Investment Cars, and great gains for all our other cars over the past 3 months

The amazing rise and rise of our Investment Cars continues...............

As reported on page 17 of the December issue of Thoroughbred and Classic Cars, all of our cars have boomed in value, as they always do. Although we have many Lotus's due to their great growth as well as just being awesome, we were not suprised to see the Elite drop by 10%, as they were definitely becoming over-priced for what they are (we have no Elite's). Many other cars with famous badges have dropped as we predicted, which is why we move them on well BEFORE they drop. Here are the statistics over the past 3 months, as reported in the magazine :

Rising Collectible Cars

BMW 635 Csi                                                   Up 23%

BMW M3 E30                                                   Up 20%

Ford Escort RS Turbo                                  Up 29%

Volvo 164E                                                      Up 30%

Naturally, these great risers will plateau soon, and so we will move out of them into other great Collectible Investment Cars.

The Losers, dropping Collectible Cars

Ferrari Dino 246 GT                                      Down 8.3%

Lamborghini 350GT                                    Down 5.7%

Ferrari Testarossa                                        Down 2.9%

Facel Vega HK 500                                        Down 5.4%

We think that Hagerty may not be happy with our Build Slot purchases !.

January 14, 2021

We think that Hagerty may not be happy with our Build Slot purchases !.

We have indulged in Build Slot purchases for ourselves and for our Investors along the way.

Whilst we have enjoyed our involvement with Build Slot cars, it seems that not everyone is as excited as we have been, and are now. We always thought that making $350,000 out of one Porsche 911 R Build Slot car in 2016 was completely normal, and that everyone was doing it. Then there were the Aston Martin DB4 GT's in 2019.............what great cars. Our Investors certainly appreciated our work !.

Singer 911/959 goes Rallying.

Singer 911/959 goes Rallying.

Whilst Singer Vehicle Design normally restores and builds Porsche 911's, now they are expanding into Rallying and Rally Raid events with ACS.

There is little doubt that some of the most stunning Porsche 911's to have appeared in recent years have come from Singer, just as many of the winning 911 Rally Cars have come from Tuthill (4 wins in the East African Safari Rally). Now the two are combining energies for one very exciting alliance.

AU$7.7 Million (US$6 Million) was paid for a Paris-Dakar Porsche 959 in November of 2018, and so they could be on to a godd thing !.
