At the time that this car was developed, this became the largest engined Porsche available, featuring a 2.4 litre unti that was bored out to 2687 cc, although retaining the original valve train. The car boasted 210 bhp at 6300 rpm, and had a top speed of 152 mph ( 243 km/hr ) courtesy of higher ratio 4th and 5th gears.
Three versions of this car were available, including a lightweight Sports trim, which had extra thin body panels, lightweight glass throughout, along with a very very bare interior.
Production began during April, 1972 and finished in July of the same year.
