Here comes the next rise in Classic Car values....... When will it stop ?

At this stage of the game, we really need Classic Car values to stop rising, or else it will end with a slight drop in values rather than the plateauing that has occurred in Europe recently. If not, we may suffer from the same issue that will affect Sydney and Melbourne property values as soon as interest rates rise, if not earlier. In both cities, property has risen across the board too much this time around, and we already have empty apartments in Melbourne that are now worth less than what they were purchased for, with another 11,000 still to be completed or erected in the same area.

Classic Cars on the other hand have always shown steady growth for the last 15 years, with 476% across the most recent 10 year period. If the new round of Public Relations and news stories have the same effect as the last round though, we will be in for more gains in valuations. In addition, we are coming into Summer in Europe, which is typically the period of the greatest gains in Classic Car prices.

The latest story by Britain's BBC News will undoubtedly spawn a whole new wave of investors into the market, and so up prices will go again, which may be a little too much.

Fortunately, here in Australia, we have only just begun the wave of vaue increases, and so we have a way to go yet before we are even anywhere near the top of the market. This will hopefully address the balance, now that property prices have peaked, with many suburbs dropping in value now. That said, the recent Interest Rate cut may well temporarily reverse this trend..........before it then drops significantly. Then again try telling property owners in Perth or North Queensland that there is any chance of their property value slide stopping, and they will be happy !.

So we will continue our relentless purchase of all the cars that we know are next to rise.
