Values of American Classic cars drop against Europeans

American Classic Car Values fall while European values soar.

Information from the Scottsdale's 2014 auction week tells us that Classic car Values are rising fast, although the rise is not from the old American cars, Sale numbers  were well up from the previous year in most  in all relevant Classic Car categories, although all of the real action has happened in the foreign ( European ) and exotic categories, with classic American iron from the 1950s falling behind.

Rob Sass from Hagerty Insurance has highlighted several makes and models of Classic American cars that have been showing a slightly downward trend in prices, or at best a flatlining. Some of the Classic Cars highlighted are the 1957 Chevy Bel Air, the Chrysler 300C, the Ford Thunderbird, the 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk and 1953 Hudson Hornet.

As clearly stated by CNN Money though, collectors are often urged to invest in the cars they fall in love with and to be proud of, rather than the ones that make serious money. With American Classic Car prices falling while European values rise, this approach may not serve muscle Car lovers all that well.
