Porsche 928's triple in value over 10 months in Australia

Way back in December, 2015 we were purchasing all the low mileage Porsche 928's, and 928 S's that we could get our hands on, and never paid more than AU$10,000 for any of them. Now, in October, 2016, the same cars are selling for AU$30-40,000. (For cars with under 110,000 kms on the odometer).

Whilst these cars are not loved by all Porsche enthusiasts, they do have several redeeming features. Firstly, these cars are extremely well balanced, as they have the all aluminium V-8 engine at the front of the car, whilst the transaxle which incorporates the gearbox and final drive in one unit, is at the rear of the car. Secondly, the 928 was a reasonably quick car, as the European versions had over 300 bhp in the 4.7 litre S version, that arrived in 1980, and this engine propelled the 928 to almost 240 km/hr, which was quick in 1980.

Most 928's were built as automatics, with around one fifth available as manuals. These cars have now become worth large sums, especially if they are the early, pre-S model, built between 1977 and 1979. These cars are like the Holy Grail of water cooled Porsche's.

There are many other Classic Cars rising at the same rate, and indeed even faster. and so please call us on our Freecall number to find out which models are the next big risers.
