The Fun of Owning a Classic Car

March 18, 2014

Because Classic Cars can quite often be Performance Cars, they are often suitable to go Motor Racing with. Many, many people are now beginning to enjoy their Pride and Joy in this way, and have entered into Classic and Historic Motor Racing and Rallying. There are many different types of cars used, from the beautiful and very expensive Jaguar E-Types and Ferrari 308's and 328's right through to MG Midgets and Triumph Spitfire's. Most drivers use the Performance Variants of these cars, which of course helps enormously with the balance and outright speed of the car. Many folk are now getting into Classic Rallying as well as Historic Circuit Racing, and this does indeed mean that the phenomenal Audi Quattro can be owned, used and driven competitively. These cars had approximately 500 HP in their original form, although this was raised when the Evolution version was released, which harnessed over 700 HP in a much lighter and shorter car. This version was known as the A2 Quattro, and was nothing short of mindblowing.

Other Classic Rally Cars are the Austin Healey 3000, the Lotus Cortina ( Mark l and Mark ll ), as well as the Porchse 911, which is currently giving the All-Time Classic of Classic Rally Cars, the Ford Escort, a good run for it's money. Certain Classic series also allow the Ford Sierra Cosworth to compete head to head against the Escort's, most of which are GB£150,000 ( AU$ 283,000 ) vehicles. Motor Sport is a wonderful way to enjoy you're Investment in a fun and social way.
