Why are Lotus Esprit's yet to see their greatest value rise ?.

Supercars such as the Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo have always been undervalued...........until now.

Classic Cars ultimately all rise in value, with some rising fast and some trailing behind until they are 'discovered'.

We can trace the history of such cars by looking at supercars such as the Porsche 930 Turbo, which was unloved for SO many years by comparison to cars such as 911 T's, E's and S's. In addition, we can now even add the 911 SC to the list, as again it is a model that has suddenly experienced significant growth in the last 6 months.

Some cars have yet to be discovered, and when they are, the same will occur. The Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo is such a car.

Just to sit in one of these cars is an honour, and the clear realisation that one is sittiing in a race car that has been refined for road use is very apparent. With the steering wheel, driving seat, stalk controls and instruments all exactly where you would want them if you were racing the car, the feeling of having 'come home' is impossible to avoid. Then, when the ignition key is turned and the engine roars into life, the feeling goes right throught the car.

To drive these cars is simply a dream come true, with almost no other road cars having the same steering precision and phenomenal feeling on the brake pedal. Everything about these cars is razor sharp, and with a 0-100 kph time of 4.5 seconds, the effect is simply mesmorising. These cars drive themselves through all the bends that you can throw at them with the ease of Lotus 7, in a closed car with a greater level of luxury than other cars of this era.

When comparing the driveability of these cars such to other supercars such as Ferrari's and Porsche's, there reallly is no comparsison as they are simply light years ahead. For this reason, and when others catch on from a new generation, values will skyrocket.

Forget the old adage of 'Lots Of Trouble Usually Serous' as this was for the older models. Take another look (and drive).
