The long awaited U.K. Hagerty Price Guide has just been published
As we predicted, the recent UK press reports of a "crash" were unfounded and were more about telling the story of a Classic Car Restoration skills shortage, which is indeed the case. The few cars that have dropped are the ones that nobody wants anymore, which we predicted 14 months ago.
As the Price Guide states for the period of the last 12 months in the U.K., the 1980's Ferrari's are down a little, which is why we have not purchased any Ferrari's for 2 years. As we all know, the sub-£50,000 is going strong, with the Golf Gti up 21% and the Alfa Duetto Spider up 29.3%.
As for the Australian market, all Classic and Modern Classic values are rising fast, as indicated by cars such as the Jaguar XJS Convertible, which were $15-20,000 last year, and are now $80-100,000. Maybe wait until they are $150,000 !.
Prices continue to rise on selected Japanese Classic and Modern Classic Cars
This wonderful car sets a new benchmark in Australian R34 GT-R prices, and reflects the market perfectly. We currently have many of these fine machines on the way from overseas (Not from Japan !).
These cars are almost at the end of their growth trajectory, and so we are now purchasing the next new risers for only $20,000 each, which will rapidly rise to $100,000, or more, just as with all the other cars we purchase. Call now to find out the selected exact makes and models that we are acquiring.
The tale of one Porsche Turbo, and why the 930 is called the Widowmaker
This is a tale of one particular well travelled Porsche 930 Turbo, and touches on the love that some have for this version of the 911. For all of you that have owned, or driven a 930 Turbo, you will clearly relate to the parts of this article that relate to driving this car on slippery roads with sheer drops at their edges !!.
Ford Escort RS2000 sells for AU$168,000 (£97,875) as prices boom again in Europe.
Silverstone Auctions latest sale in Birmingham has yielded some amazing results, on the back of the recent 2017 Porsche Auction. Modern Classic Car prices are booming again in Britain and Europe. An Audi Quattro sold for AU$120,250 (£69,750), and many Escort RS Turbo's attracted great results, as 1980's and 1990's cars move into the lead.
Now even Modern Classics have joined the ranks of cars being rebuilt by the Factory
Mazda are now offering to build a "Reborn" Mazda MX-5 Mk1 for you, and the boom in Modern Classic Cars takes hold.
Perfectly in line with our predictions earlier this year (See our Blogs), Jaguar's XJS Convertible has now passed AU$100,000.
Most good examples on the market are now between AU$75,000 and AU$116,000. This example is only $92,000. In September there were 39 Jaguar XJS's on Carsales.com.au, and now there are just 11 left.
Mark Haybittle discusses the major movers in the Classic Car Industry over the past 12 months.
As we predicted, the older 1950's to 1970's Classics are starting to fall away as the New Kids on the Block emerge.
As the average age of the purchaser's becomes older, the older cars start to fall away, and are now being replaced with later cars, including Supercars, and so things are becoming really exciting now.

As Chris Kohler explains, all smart investors are now turning to Classic Cars to make serious money as the Sydney property market stalls. Classic Cars will soon be the ONLY investments left with real growth, especially when interest rates rise. We will be checking the attendance at the Gosford Classic Car Museum Auction tomorrow now that the story is out !.
The HAGI Report shows us some interesting statistics
Whilst HAGI has reported a "cooling" in the United States, Europe and South Africa are picking up pace again..............
It's great to see some cooling of the market in the U.S.A, as it will avoid any type of bubble scenario.
Now that Restorations are a MASSIVE part of the Classic Car Industry, this Video shows us why.....
The Classic Car Restoration Business is growing at a very significant pace now, and this Video brings our attention to the fact that these cars are never going to be built again............unless we rebuild them. That is why they are worth so much, and rise in value every day !.
The next boom in European Classic Car prices is just trickling into life......
Are you going to miss out..............AGAIN ?.
If you missed out on the 2013-2015 European Classic Car Boom, or are currently missing out on the massive rises going on in Australia, you may have another chance. The U.K market is just starting to move again. This very low mileage Porsche 924 sold for £26,100 (AU$44,237) at last Saturday's Silverstone Auctions Porsche Sale 2017. Even more amazing was the sale of a LHD 914-6 (NOT a great car !) for £49,450 (AU$83,813).
Remember that European Classic's never drop in value, unlike the U.S. and Australian cars which are tied to local economies with non-global populations.
