Hagerty report shows Datsun 240Z up 23.2% over the past 12 months in Europe

The long awaited U.K. Hagerty Price Guide has just been published

As we predicted, the recent UK press reports of a "crash" were unfounded and were more about telling the story of a Classic Car Restoration skills shortage, which is indeed the case. The few cars that have dropped are the ones that nobody wants anymore, which we predicted 14 months ago.

As the Price Guide states for the period of the last 12 months in the U.K., the 1980's Ferrari's are down a little, which is why we have not purchased any Ferrari's for 2 years. As we all know, the sub-£50,000 is going strong, with the Golf Gti up 21% and the Alfa Duetto Spider up 29.3%.

As for the Australian market, all  Classic and Modern Classic values are rising fast, as indicated by cars such as the Jaguar XJS Convertible, which were $15-20,000 last year, and are now $80-100,000. Maybe wait until they are $150,000 !.

192% growth across 10 years, with 1980's cars leading the way

As we predicted, the older 1950's to 1970's Classics are starting to fall away as the New Kids on the Block emerge.

As the average age of the purchaser's becomes older, the older cars start to fall away, and are now being replaced with later cars, including Supercars, and so things are becoming really exciting now.

The next European price boom is not far off.

October 22, 2017

The next European price boom is not far off.

The next boom in European Classic Car prices is just trickling into life......

Are you going to miss out..............AGAIN ?.

If you missed out on the 2013-2015 European Classic Car Boom, or are currently missing out on the massive rises going on in Australia, you may have another chance. The U.K market is just starting to move again. This very low mileage Porsche 924 sold for £26,100 (AU$44,237) at last Saturday's Silverstone Auctions Porsche Sale 2017. Even more amazing was the sale of a LHD 914-6 (NOT a great car !) for £49,450 (AU$83,813).

Remember that European Classic's never drop in value, unlike the U.S. and Australian cars which are tied to local economies with non-global populations.
