A Porsche 930 Turbo, a Lotus Esprit Turbo, a Porsche 944, A Toyota AE86, and lots of great roads.....
Another great social rally event described in perfect detail by Patrick Stevenson aboard a Porsche 930 Turbo that he borrowed from Makellos Classics.
Estimated $700,000 (£500,000) for this rusty barn find 356A
As everyone knows, Porsche 356a's, B's and C's are worth big money.
That said, this 356A GS Carrera does re-define what some people will pay for an early 1500 cc Beetle powered Porsche. We will know the outcome in 4 days time.
1996 Subaru Impreza WRX GC-8 sells for AU$30,000
Last year we were snapping up early WRX's in concours conditon for $15,000. Now they are $30,000.
Call us now to discover how you can capitalise on the Modern Classic's Boom. You have to be in front of the market, not behind.
Toyota Supra JZA80's now above $80,000, as the race to secure great Japanese Modern Classic's continues.
With Nissan Skyline GTR R34 V-Spec Nr's above $200,000, Mazda R100's over $100,000, and Nissan Silvia's now hitting the $35,000 mark, it is very easy to see why many are jumping into these great cars. All have outstanding performance, awesome handling, great reliability, and don't all look the same, as cars do today.
Toyota made some wicked cars in the 1990's and on past 2000. They produced timeless, rounded Classic shapes like the second MR2 (SW20), the Tarago van (the world's first modern, striking people mover), the wonderful Celica (including the rapid 4WD GT4), and of course the sensational Supra, which had arguably the biggest rear wing of it's day. With a 3 Litre Twin Turbo 326 bhp engine, it achieved 0-100 km/hr in just 4.6 seconds.
Mazda R100's now over $100,000
As a continuation of the Australian market's thirst for Japanese Classic Cars, the groundbreaking Mazda R100 is now soaring to new heights. Whilst these cars are rare, we were offered three of these cars at separate times last year for under $18,000 each, and so the appreciation is obvious. This particular example is a completely restored coupe that shows how advanced Mazda were in 1969, by installing a small 982 c.c., 100 bhp version of the famous Wankel engine into the car, labelled the "10A' engine. These cars were capable of 175 kph, and were quicker off the line than several of their contemporaries.
There is another example on sale for $23,000 at present, although this is for the bodyshell alone !.
Almost AU$20,000 for this lovely MX-5 showing 135,000 kms
In line with the massive value rise in selected Japanese models that we have purchased in large quantities, it is now the turn of the humble MX-5. What they lacked in power was certainly balanced with excellent handling, good brakes, accompanied by the fun factor.
A long drive across Europe is always a great way to appreciate a Classic. In this case it is one lovely Datsun.
Whilst 240Z's continue their rise unabated, it is sometimes easy to forget that Datsun had other variants of this great car, that were not so famous. The driving experience seems to lack nothing !.
Will this Aston Martin exceed £16.9 MILLION ?
This wonderful Aston Martin DB4 Zagato is due to be auctioned at Goodwood later this year, and could well become the most expensive British car ever sold. The car is expected to exceed the £16.9 Million paid for another Aston Martin in 2017, and is affectionately known as 2VEV.
At almost AU$120,000, Porsche 928's are starting to surge again
Fortunately we purchased many, many Porsche 928's and S's well before the massive rise 18 months ago, after the relatively mundane 911SC took off prior to that. Following an initial boost which saw prices triple over a short period of time, prices are back on the rise again.
$3 Million Porsche Collection for sale, including a 1987 959 Komfort
Amongst the 12 classic Porsche's that are for sale at Amelia Island, there is one of only 242 Komfort 959 models available, with just 7400 kms on the odometer.
Jaguar E-Types continue to rise in value, above AU$400,000 again.
As we all know, the Jaguar E-Type is always rising in value, and has the effect of pulling everything below them up as well. The Jaguar XJS Convertible's have benefitted the most from the "E-Type factor" as they have almost tripled across the last 24 months in many cases.
Porsche 550A sells for over US$ 5.1 Million, and Ferrari 365 GTS/4 sells for US$ 2.64 Million
The Bonhams Scottsdale Auction yielded some out standing results as always, with 2018 being no exception. There were great sales made......
Quattro sells for $124,000 (£72,050) during record sales at Auction (continuation of our Nov, 11 Article).
Thankfully we purchased some RR Quattro's when they were less than £10,000.........
Now, and as a follow up to our 11th of November News Item, we can now bring you a more concise report on the CCA Auction in September. The Quattro also received a full editorial on pages 20-22 of the December issue of Classic and Sportscar magazine
