The lovely Lotus Elan + 2

Lotus have always designed and developed beautiful light, fast cars. This concept began when Colin Chapman first designed his first Lotus, and continued throughout his time as head of this great car company.

Classic Car Weekly ran a story on the illustrious Elan + 2 a couple of weeks ago, and came out singing the praises of this great little car. As they reported in their road test, these cars were superbly balanced, fast and quite luxuriously appointed for the day. The Plus 2 featured all of the extra features that the " Baby " Elan did not have, whilst still having excellent handling and a great shape. The 1558 cc engine gave accelearation from 0-60 mph of 7.9 seconds, and the original steel wheels and all-wheel disc brakes made an excellent package.

We purchased an Elan + 2 last year for just £6500 ( AU$11,775 ) , and sold it some 4 months later for £13,000 ( AU$23,550 ), and so we more than doubled our money in 12 weeks. We bought the car as a " Barn Find ", and it had literally been stored in darkness for almost 20 years. As a result, the interior was virtually in " as new " condition, and so needed very little work to bring it up to sale standard. The car went to a German purchaser who arrived with a car trailer along with the cash !.
